Cheapest Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

After one day with my new 32gb 3rd generation iPod Touch, I told my wife she should order one because it is the most unbelievable electronic device I have ever seen. Then, my grandson asked if he could check it out for a few minutes. He spent an hour with it and immediately ordered one of his own. One thing that makes it so neat are the apps that are available, now over 85,000 with many of them free or $1 - $2. As I told my wife, just buy one and I guarantee you will love it.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

I own a 5th Generation iPod (30 Gb Hard Drive) and keep all my music on it. I also listen to my podcasts every weekend while cutting the grass. I bought this iPod Touch because I wanted the "portable computer" features. The 32 Gb drive is way more than I'll ever need unless I decide to put a duplicate copy of all my music on this iPod, too. So far I've downloaded many FREE apps, all of them useful to my lifestyle (no games; not my thing). I also purchased one app for $[...] because, again, it met some of my needs/interests (satellite tracking app for amateur radio). I'm almost making a game out of downloading a free app a day. A student at the school where I'm a fifth grade teacher shares his finds with me every day, and vice-versa. For my needs and interests, using the iPod Touch to check my e-mail while sitting in the recliner or walking around my classroom, looking at websites from these same locations, and the like, THE IPOD TOUCH IS A 5-STAR PRODUCT. I've tried Skype via the iPod Touch, too. It seems to work great. If someone asked me the best features/benefits of the iPod Touch I'd say: the apps, including Apple's built-in apps (especially Mail and Safari web browser). If any of this sounds like something you're interested in, get the iPod Touch. I could have gotten all of this for $[...] less with the 8 Gb model, but the "new" features of the 32 Gb model were worth the $[...] to me. Go for it!Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Right now

I owned an 8 gig 1st Gen iPod Touch and recently upgraded to a 64 Gig 3rd Gen for more space. I was happy with the 1st Gen model but I simply ran out of space. 64 Gig is a lot, and should be enough for many people.

The design of this iPod is slick. It's very thin, very simple in design, but it does so much. It comes with a handful of apps and does so much more than play music. I use the clock app to set multiple alarms to remind me of time sensitive tasks at work. I also enjoy using the notepad app so I never need to carry pen and paper with me. With the ability to add apps, the iPod Touch is like a mini computer. I also noticed a considerable speed increase over the 1st Gen model because of the faster processor. With the Barnes & Noble eBook reader App, I also find the iPod to be a worthy competitor to the eKindle, although some people may want a bigger screen for reading books. I also enjoy the Facebook app as well as the Pandora app for streaming audio.

One thing misleading about this product is the fact that it comes with a voice recording app. Unlike the iPhone, it does not have an audio input device, so you'll get a no microphone error message if you try to use it. I am a little disappointed by the fact Apple still uses the very scratch prone metal on the back. I was also disappointed that the 3rd gen model did not get the same camera the iPhone 3GS has. Last, not all web pages will render correctly, despite Steve Jobs bragging about the fact that it uses a full fledged browser, because the flash plugin is not available for it.

Overall, this is not just the greatest iPod ever, it's the greatest portable music player and best PDA in my opinion. With the app store and iTunes, it offers something for everyone. Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Much of the world is I-pod compatiable and I thought I should join in...so I purchased the I-Pod Touch. I LOVE it. The calendar is my favorite part...it keeps me on track to be where I have commitments...and in retirement, one is busier than ever before, and it is light and easy to carry without weighing down my purse. I also love the weather option to see where I might be travelling to...and the world clock for places that I have relatives or friends...or wish to go to.

Learning to use all of the features takes time and patience for me...I am technologically somewhere between a beginner and a geek...I can maneuver quite well as a user, but encountering problems my troubleshooting takes time. I am still working on the e-mail app. for example.

It took a few tries to get the SYNC operation working with what I wanted, but that is A-OK now and very easy to use.

Overall, I highly recommend this I-Pod Touch...great way to stay in touch with anything in the world and especially your own life. AND having your own music, from your own CDs on board, means you never have to listen to anyone else's choices when waiting.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Decide Now

I resisted buying an iPod Touch until the newest version came out. I'm glad I waited because this one has all the features, storage capacity, and price that I could want. But by waiting I also missed out on a couple of years of fun with this cool little gadget. I'd done other iPod models and always was impressed with them. The Touch is a whole new way to use an iPod. I use it more for movies and apps than I do music, but the music is the easiest to access of any iPod I've used, as well.

Now I have to buy two more of them for my adult kids for Christmas. They're so enthralled with mine that they keep dropping hints about getting one for themselves. It'll kind of put the fun back into Christmas to do this and I'll know that they're getting a good quality item that they can use for years to come.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

I really like everything about my iTouch, but just want to warn you that the back of it gets scratched very easily. I was in the process of getting a cover for it and had it for less than a week, and even though I was handling it with extreme caution the silver somehow got scratched on the back side. I purchased "Ice Creme" scratch remover, which helped somewhat, but there are still scratches in the finish. If something like this will bug you (like it does me), make sure you have a skin or some other cover for it right out of the box, since it takes very little to scuff it up. Other than that, it is a great product and I love it.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

I ordered this iPod. I got it today, and it is syncing as I write this. But this page says the 3rd generation iPod. I'm not entirely sure that is what I received. Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Review

I just bought one of these. I wanted a lightweight device for displaying thumbnail photos from my web page when I'm on a buying trip, so I can quickly determine whether I have an item or not when considering a purchase. My web site has over 2,000 different varieties of the items I expect to see on my next trip, so this will be a convenient reference in places where I know there will be no Internet access. This tool allows me to create a nice index of thumbnails that is exactly what I had in mind, so I'm pleased with it for that reason. There are other things I'm not that pleased about.
Right out of the box I'm hit with something I don't like because if I want to use my iPod Touch for any purpose whatsoever I have to use an iTunes interface on my desktop computer to load media onto it. To do that, just to install the iTunes application I have to give Apple a "payment method" IN ADVANCE before I can do anything else. Apple has already sold me a pricey piece of hardware, but now before I can even use it I have to set myself up for more payments by putting my pocketbook on the line with this "payment method." This portends some other nasty things.
There is nothing really objectionable about the way iTunes provides a channel for moving pictures from my web site to the iTouch. Still, I can't just use the iTouch as free hard drive space where I can name all the folders myself and move or remove image files with basic Windows commands. I have to use a new set of Apple applications, folders and commands with far fewer choices.
I compare this iTunes tool for capturing shoppers to other portable devices such as the ones Creative makes that just give you storage space with some simple media player functions. No iTunes! Apple should give users options for loading their media with or without iTunes, with or without providing Apple with a "payment method" and with or without using Apple's plan for organizing their media instead of their own. I know Apple is not open to suggestions like that (if it were the iPhone would be sold with an unlocked option) but it needs to be said anyway.
It amazes me people are willing to pay such high prices for Apple devices without getting for their money versatile and flexible tools they truly own themselves. This is what "style" mania does to people: put me in handcuffs, but make me look good! (I didn't have any of my own ideas anyway)
There is no reason why an iPod Touch can't access the internet using its USB connection, but for some reason Apple chose to make it wifi only. That makes it more difficult for me to prepare mine for a road trip with my home configuration, because I don't use wifi here for security reasons. For the price it should not have this limitation.
The audio department is where Apple gets most most egregiously meddlesome. In the big computer world one can take any mp3 file and put it in any directory with one's own chosen directory name. Not with an "iTouch." Your mp3 files have a "media type" definition (which you don't even see--or need to see--in Windows or Unix) which can be audiobook, music, or nothing. If your file's media type is audiobook, it has to go into Apple's audiobook folder, like it or not. If your file's media type is "music," it has to go into Apple's music folder, too bad if you'd rather put it someplace else.
If the "media type" is not defined (nothing), the file goes into the music folder whether you like it or not because that's the default. There is no way to put such files where they belong if where they belong happens to be the audiobooks folder. If the media type is "music" or "audiobook" you can change it. For anyone with lots of of media files this is a needless inconvenience, but at least it is an option. If the media type is undefined, you're stuck with that and it can't be changed without reloading or recreating the file from scratch.
If the mp3 files you are working with are audiobook files with an undefined media type definition and you don't want them mixed with other music files, the only option on this iPod Touch device is to create a playlist named after the title of the book. They'll still be mixed with the music files, but as a playlist you'll be able to access them separately.
This scheme is unnecessarily rigid. The designers probably have reasons why the mp3 media type definition is useful but if it is useful it should be used to facilitate use and access. It should not be used to prevent users from deciding what folders to use for their media. The inability to name folders is bad enough.
For now this is the only tool I know about that lets me make the kind of pocket photo index I want, but when I find something else that does the same thing but works more like a computer that belongs to me instead of someone else's selling platform and style widget I'll convert to that and drop this. Where To Buy Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Ok, so I'm not cool enough to have an iPhone, but at least I can play like I do with my iTouch. The apps are great, the screen is clear and easy to navigate. The 3G is so slim, it won't fit into the 2G cases. It's tiny. I just love it. I even joined audible so I can download books to listen to in my car without having to have 8 disks. All in all, I would only be happier if I could connect to the internet from anywhere instead of just where I have wifi. I guess I could switch to ATT, but that probably won't happen. Shop For Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Before even saying "hello" Iet me just say that the delivery speed is terrible(one of the reasons that let me give this product 4 stars).

Hello,

I'm NOT gona write a Long, boring review or anything i'm just going to List some specs and comment on it with rate given, in every spec/feature you'll notice me mentioning The Zune HD.

**The rating system is 0 to 10.

*Sound QualitY : Not Great at all, I even tried 320kbps HQ music it doesn't sound clear !! Yeah Loud but no Clarity . but i'm pretty sure it'll satisfy many people although at this point i kinda wished i got The Zune HD, no kidding.___ 6\10

*Screen Quality : No complains here at all crisp clean pure colored screen much more better to read Text in than the zune HD. But still the Zune HD screen is more desirable in a way.___ 9/10

*Wifi Quality : Short Range coverage! i didnt expected to be that weak(You'll live with it). Same as Zune HD.___ 7/10

*Internet (safari) : I actually bought this device for the internet and specially for the beast " safari " it realy make you step away from using your PC/Laptop constantly, You can sign in msn massenger(app ebuddy), check your email, and watch YOUTUBE simply everything! Not to forget the ability for opening multiple pages at once. You most definitely cannot do what i mentioned in Zune HD. ___ 10/10

*iTunes : I hate it I hate it, I wish this device had another application support it. i'm not gona go in details about whats bad in iTunes because i'll not stop for sure. I would rather have Zune's HD software instead .___4/10

*The feel in hand : Handy and feels right in your hands but when the right case is installed so i'd love to recommend Incipio cases. Zune Hd doesn't have many cases and its about the same as an ipod when having it without the case with a bit of diffrences in Dimensions.

*Radio : No Radio is a big Dissapointment realy. Zune HD wins all the way. ___ 0/10

*Battrey life : not bad it could last for two days without charging for mid-excessive usage. no Zune HD can last that long maybe close, it actually depends on the usage but the iPod is pretty much not bad at all. 7/10

*Organizer Apps (Not about apps Store) : Calender , alarms , stop wtach , timer and Notes are great features to have in this little device. Totally a step over Zune HD. Its funny i didn't talke about Apps Store because it's unfair to compare or even mentioning it against the Zune HD___ 9/10

*Voice Control : I dont Use this feature but it's good to have. Zune HD Do Not have it ___ Out of rate

*Extra Built-in's : No Mic , No Camera and plus No Radio Tuner (as mentioned before). The sad thing is that we expected these built-in's to be added in the 3G! it's a Big let down. 1/10

** Overall : Buy Zune HD if You're TOO MUCH into listening(HQ) music or watching videos , Get iPod Touch 3g if You're looking TOO MUCH for anything else. Enough Said.

Thank You.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Buying Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I've been keeping up with all the reviews posted here since the 3rd generation was released. I've read them all, and quite a few have done a lovely job describing the specs, technology, etc. They've put it into better words than I can muster, so I will focus my review on my experience instead.

I'm a 20 year old college student, and I'm not a very big spender. This is my first investment in a single item so expensive, and I'm very satisfied about my decision. I've had an iPod classic 60gb for almost four years now. Both my parents have the 120gb classic, so I've seen how the classic has been improved since my own. Even though the newer classic models have the capacity to hold an insane amount of songs--I thought 15,000 was an insane amount four years ago--, I really wanted to get an iPod touch because of the newer technology it offered. However, I did not want to sacrifice so much storage space when, even with an older iPod classic, I could hold far more songs than a 2nd generation 32gb touch. So, I was absolutely ecstatic when I heard they were going to be releasing a new 64gb touch and did not hesitate to purchase it. It holds just about the same amount of songs as my 60gb classic, but even though I did not progress in the amount of storage space, I love the addition of Wi-fi, apps, and other cool aspects the classic or nano does not offer.

I've noted that the majority of negative reviews complained about no camera installment and no vast updates from the 2nd generation. While this is true, I personally do not believe updating the same type of iPod so quickly is such a wise move (unless there was something wrong with the older iPod). I mean, the 2nd generation is still pretty new--why would you want to get a new one with the same capacity after only one year? Yes, it would have been nice if they installed a camera or a radio or a GPS, but I hope the 2nd generation users were aware that this was not the case before purchasing the new generation touch.

As for me, my iPod has been through a lot, and I'm glad it's still cooperating with me. I will continue to use my classic, but I've been spoiling my new touch since it arrived. I am not a camera person, so a lack thereof does not bother me. Also, since I've never owned a 1st or 2nd generation touch, the 3rd generation is completely new to me and, quite frankly, I'm having a blast messing around with it.

So what it comes down to is this--if you already have a 2nd generation touch, do not upgrade if it's still a perfectly functioning iPod unless you want the new 64gb storage space. If you're a nano or classic user like me and are considering purchasing your first touch, I highly recommend. It was delivered on-time and in perfect condition, and I've had no problems whatsoever. However, if you're anything like me, beware--buying this may cause you to procrastinate completing your work and assignments. ;)Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Purchase Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I really wanted to like this player but the more I use it the more I hate it. First off Apples insistance on not letting you download anything without buying it through iTunes is a joke. Even media that is compatable requires the use of iTunes or the purchase of an application from iThieves.
Try to dowmload an audio book from the library and 1 chapter downloads to the device in the time I could transfer 4 books to any other device. And I'm not exaggerating either. I should have known when someone that will pay $15 a month to join audio books so they could buy audio titles at full price sold me on this product.
Audio playback is okay. Not any better than Zune and some other player in the same price range. Took the zune back and likely this is going back too! Just not worth the money.
I have to pick up my five year old palm tx to do most of the things I wanted to use this device for. And since I already have a small zune that will download more than one full audio book an hour I'm not wasting my time with it.
I'd give it to my daughter but I'm not that mean.

I own two iPod Touch 2Gs and do not plan to purchase the 3G. The capacity upgrade is cool, as is the speed upgrade (but only for 32/64 GB editions), but my current iPod serves me decently well and the new ones don't have any features that are interesting enough to make me want to switch.

I love the iPod Touch, but I was looking forward to camera and FM radio (which they have installed in the Nano but not the Touch, even though it makes far more sense to put them in the touch). I suspect they will be adding those in the future, but in any case, the speed and capacity are not enough to make me want to upgrade. I do highly recommend the OS upgrade though, if you own a 2G iPod. The new OS has a lot of really good new features.

If you don't own an iPod Touch 2G, I would highly recommend buying this, though if you can be patient, I think it's far wiser to wait until the next update. Though there's no guarantee, I highly suspect they will be adding a camera and FM radio later on.

Hopefully they'll also unlock Bluetooth fully, finally - it's been in there since 2G, and there's no reason for them to want to keep it locked. iPod Touch is not supposed to compete with iPhone; even with those features I'd still rather have an iPhone if they provided service in my area. Apple needs to stop withholding helpful features which could make their product better because they're afraid of competition.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Just got my first iPod, a 32GB Touch. Probably the best user interface on any similar product. Bright, clear screen, amazing graphics, no learning curve for navigating the device. Connects easily to WiFi, voice recognition works well. Browser works well, given the constraints of a HVGA screen. Mike in the earbuds is very clear. Gets four stars instead of five because:

-Back cover looks great out of the package, scratches incredibly easily
-Speaker is a nice touch, but not good quality and too low volume
-Ear buds don't fit well in my ears
-Hardly any bass with ear buds, even after punching up with equalizer

All in all, very nice for reading email, browsing the web not bad with WiFi, VoIP is fine, great for YouTube type of videos, watching movies is acceptable.

Really wish the mic was in the unit, and that GPS had been included, but a very nice unit anyway. The volume control/pause/resume/voice recognition included with the new ear buds is very nice feature of the 3G 32/64GB units.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Buy Now

I've had my ipod touch for almost two weeks now (played with it for days on end and as happy with it as can be). Since there are many, many reviews written about the technology etc, I won't write about that. Let me state first that I did some reading on the subject before I bought the ipod and that my main goal was to have an MP3 player with enough GB to contain all my music and some of my video's and have a small portable 'computerlike device' for internet and mail (at home, at work and on vacation since most hotels have free WiFi for guests now).

I'll write a review from a user's point of view. And more important, I think I'm just an average user and a first time Ipod touch user, so there will be no comparisons in my review between this generation pod and older generations (I already owned an ipod classic though). This review is for the 64 GB third gen iPod Touch which i'd been waiting for, since I thought the 32 Gb had not enough storage for me.

On the very positive side:

I wasn't looking for a cell phone or a camera (could have bought the Iphone then), since I already own fine working devices for both (who wants a 3 megapixel camera on a phone anyway if you own a credit card sized 12.1 megapixel camera, which can make video's in HD quality at the same time and I never use the camera on my cell phone for that reason). Sure, you have to carry more devices in your bag, but that's the choice you make for quality especially as regards the camera and video.

The problem with multi tasking small devices in my opinion is that normally you have everything in a poor to reasonable and nothing in excellent quality. Not so the Ipod Touch 3rd gen.

First I think it is a great gadget and more. I've had no trouble whatsoever to install and use it, without having to refer to the manual at any time. I am lucky to have WiFi everywhere I'm in a building (at home, work, hotels, my parents etc), so e-mail and internet is no problem. I installed skype, which works fine and I even free installed software for traffic news and since I live in the Netherlands, something called 'uitzending gemist'. I can watch missed TV programmes on streaming video, which to my surprise really works great. I've tried everything I could 'click' on and while I won't use everything on a regular basis, it all works fine except for some (minor) points you can read in my review further on.
You can listen to the music without the earphones (it has loudspeakers, though don't ask me where they put it), which is quite nice (but don't expect great sound quality, just good enough to listen to video's and TV, music quality is much better with earphones).
And since I have small hands, I have no problems entering a text. But I imagine someone with bigger hands could have some problems there (but hey what do you expect, we want devices as small as this and expect them to do everything and anything??).
Loading internet pages, sending email and getting e-mail: very fast! One of the many surprises.

Compared to the ipod classic it is great to have this big screen and it is easier to use.

On the negative side:

I tried the microphone which works fine for Skype etc, but not for the use of voice control (name a musical number??). The only composer it recognizes seems to be Mozart. But if I want Verdi, all I get is some rock song. I dont know if this works better in English, since I have the Dutch language installed on my pod. Anyway, a small negative for me since I did not intend to use it much. But I think the problem might be in the pronunciation of words. It probably expects me to pronounce words like it is spoken in Dutch, which might be a problem if all you listen to are foreign composers and singers (but I had a blast listening to the music I have and didn't know I had on my pod). So this is not a problem because of the quality of the mic, but just the inner workings of voice control that doesn't seem to adjust well to languages.

The battery, that could be a more serious problem if you like to watch video's, say on vacation (of course at home i'll use my TV). Here is where my knowledge of technology fails, because I don't know if it's possible to have a longer lasting battery in a device this small. I'd have liked it though, if the battery lasted longer than it does now. Especially if you use the wireless, that seems to 'suck' energy more than anything.

I have a radio on my Ipod classic which requires no internet, just a radio accessory I bought. Why not on this pod? I can use streaming internet radio (which also works fine), but that requires internet access which I have a lot of the time, but not always.

On the whole: not sorry to have bought this, even at these prices. There are some (minor) negative points, but then what do you expect from a device this size (and the size I definitely consider an advantage). It does have it's limitations and to say anything else, well, I think that would not be totally honest. And I could probably have written a lot more, but I think for everyday use, it's about the music, video's, internet and e-mail.

Viewed from that point I think the positive sides far outweigh the negatives.

PS I've used Skype for several days now and it's really great to be able to speak to relatives on another continent via internet FOR FREE. Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Decide Now

I am very happy with my purchase. The part that kind of ticks me off is i purchased around sept 22. and on sept 26ish they lower the price from 400-380. So in a sense i paid $20 extra just to get my item 4 days earlier. I also heard somewhere that amazon no longer price match so that is a big bummer.

Sound quality is great with the apple include earphones. Their decent but not the greatest. I can definitely tell the difference between inear and earphones. I would suggest everyone to invest in inear earbuds and save your apple earphones for if your inear earbuds break.

I mainly purchased the ipod touch for the application use. So far i am very happy. With apple always giving out free apps it can basically pay itself off if you get those promo free apps every week.

The touch is very responsive more than the iphone 3g not 3gs.

64 gigs of music apps and movies is unbeatable. I cant wait for it they come out with a 80 or even a 120 ipod touch. I would jump on that and pre-order it and everything.

I am not a big fan of using itunes as i have a lot of albums with duplicate songs which kind of bites. As it takes forever to delete songs individually. Other than that I'm quite pleased.

I take it everywhere with me and i wouldn't look back.

So if you are on the boarder line on getting this i say jump on it. Even if your not a big movie or music person. the apps and versatility is worth the price alone.

It's a product designed for portability, simplicity, and ease of use. Icons and "touch" are the principle for its design and use. I find it an excellent product when all you do is using your fingers to select objects and to scroll or enlarge the page you are on. Touching is not meant to replace typing; in other words, this device is better for reading and watching than for typing or large data input. It's a device good for saving your favorite websites or applications for regular use, and apps are plenty. As long as you have wireless access to the internet, it's a pleasure using it. It's an iPod good for music and videos like other iPods, but with wireless internet and the biggest screen. The 32GB is plenty enough for most uses. Too much data stored may change the responsiveness of this device.

While I'm at it, may I say that the iPod shuffle, because of its size and weight, is good for joggers who need only music. The nano is good for the gym since it also has FM radio and voice control. The Classic is for those who have a large collection of music or videos or audio books and have a music system to connect it to. The touch is for those, beside listening to music and watching videos, want some web browsing where there is wi-fi. Because of their differences, it's not unusual for one to own more than one iPod. Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Immediately

I had this product two days. The first day I put music on it and I was content with the layout and screen. The second day I went to the app store. In opening one of the apps onto the iPod - iTouch, iTunes froze, and froze my computer. I had to reboot the computer by pushing and holding the power ON button. When getting iTunes running again, iTunes said that the iPod needed to be restored. I did this. It told me the same thing over and over again. In short I tried to recover to the factory settings, a number of times, I tried to uninstall iTunes, and install it again, (3 or 4 times), I tried it on a different computer, an older one I have. The last outcome was that the firmware is corrupt. Lastly I drove 20 miles to an Apple store, which they told me I needed an appointment, (the soonest they had was three hours from when I was there), and they told me to return it to Amazon. I also heard I did everything they would have recommended. I am VERY, VERY unhappy with Apple. I stormed out of there saying I will NEVER buy anything from Apple again! My computer had to be restored to an earlier time because of installing iTunes. This is my first and last Apple product. If they can't even help you in the store after driving 20 miles, then they don't get my business. I was worried Amazon would make it difficult to return this "paperweight" but the process wasn't what I have read in the past. Thank you Amazon. Too bad, it looked like a nice player. It just needed to NOT be dependent on iTunes. I never liked iTunes. And it needs a reset button on the player itself like most others. Apple, I will never get back the 12 or so hours I wasted on this product trying to fix it, only to have nothing more than a paperweight.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL This instant

Pros:
Very thin compared to Zune
Integration of bluetooth and wifi
Endless list of applications (free and paid)
Not just an MP3 player, picture viewer, and movie player--but a mini netbook/internet tablet
Great sound quality
Awesome touch screen with multitouch (two fingers used to zoom in/out)
Ability to watch Youtube videos
Touch screen keyboard is very usable even with larger fingers

Cons:
Device attracts finger prints very easily
iTunes software is "clunky" and slow at times, takes some getting used to
Expensive accessories
No flash player, however can still view Youtube videos

Summary:
All things set aside I am very pleased with my purchase. Coming from the Creative and Zune world of MP3 players I am very impressed with the iPod Touch 3rd generation 32gb and was a worthwhile upgrade. The iPod Touch allows internet browsing, applications, streaming internet radio (AOL, Pandora), and even the ability to watch Youtube videos! However if you currently own an iPod Touch 2nd generation, aside from the faster processor, you may want to wait. Bottom-line if you want a simple MP3 player then look elsewhere, on the other hand if you want a multi-function MP3 player/ video player/ picture viewer/ internet browser/ portable office/ etc... then the iPod Touch is for you.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Top Quality

What I intended to use this device for besides the obvious:

- Check my email accounts with a touch of a button
- Surf the internet with ease
- PDF Reader
- CHM File reader

This device has exceeded my expectations. A built-in video camera and mic would have been useful. I'll be peeved if they release the video camera version by Christmas.

Web browsing is pretty fast now that I changed my wireless encryption to WEP. WPA encryption slows it down considerably for some reason. Well, at least for me it does.

Pros:
- Satisfies basic computer usage(Saves me from booting up my PC downstairs.)
- Lots of apps, some are free. (PDF reader, ichm, Taskmaster, etc.)
- 32GB storage is more than enough for me. I still have 27GB left!
- Portability
- Charges fairly fast.

Cons:
- Battery life.
- Doesn't come with wall charger
- Speaker sound quality is bad.
- Ear phones are bad.
- Fingerprint magnet
- I would've liked a built-in FM transmitter. Most PMP devices have them nowadays.

I thought about buying the Zune HD since it's more advanced, but it wouldn't have fulfilled my intended uses.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Review

I have two issues: One with Amazon, the other with my 32gig iPod Touch.

I've had friends with 2nd-gen iPod Touches for a long time now, and I am very familiar with the wonderful screen and long list of features. The App Store sets it apart from any other handheld device. However, this iPod seems to be wildly unstable. It crashes several times a day (and I don't even use it that frequently). It simply freezes up completely at random. I've tried resetting system settings and even completely restoring its software.

Maybe I just got a lemon? I'm going to try and exchange it soon. Hopefully my next one works out. I'd really like to know if anyone else is having stability issues.

My problem with Amazon deals with their "Super Saver Shipping". When checking out, it says it will take 5-9 days. They should have an asterisk with a warning that it will take much longer than 5-9 days to arrive to your house. I didn't realize that processing would take an extra 5 business days until after I ordered. It was very frustrating, but I called up Amazon and they were kind enough to cancel my order with no questions asked. Had to fork over the extra cash to Best Buy to get my current iPod.

UPDATE: Exchanged the iPod, the new one has yet to freeze on me at all after 3 full days of use! I'm also now feeling like it's unfair to blame Amazon when they so kindly resolved my issue. No complaints!Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Shop For Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I just recently moved from a Palm TX to the ipod touch 3rd gen, and wanted to list out a couple limitations that i ran into that people should be aware of. Note i really like my ipod touch and think this is the best overall small portable device available (especialy as palm stoped selling their pda's and is only selling phones now).

1 - Apple locks down syncing to only support certain file types, so to get other files types you have to have an application that is net enabled. Example being ebooks. You cann't choose files to send to the ipod, you have to get them through the app you are using (ebookreader, kindel, etc. . ).

2 - Video format support is fairly limited. Stuff that plays looks great, but you pretty much have to have it in quicktime format. And even then i havn't always been able to get my own videos to sync correctly.

3 - No office document support without extra cost. Palm TX came with Documents To Go. You can buy this for the ipod touch, but costs $10.

4 - Apple seems pretty draconian about limitations on using mp3s purchased through iTunes. I havn't worked out all the details, but it looks like you have to make sure to "deactivate" a computer before you move files to another computer where you have to activate the new computer. You also can't re-download content that you lost if you loose data or something. I looks like some people have been able to get apple to help them if they complain enough, but for now i think i am going to stick to buying mp3s through Amazon.

5 - Artificial limitations - not all hardware is activated (N wireless, FM transmitter), and no support for running multiple processes at once (except music). This is pretty crippling for some apps. For example, i can use Skype to make calls to anyone anywhere as long as i have WiFi access and Skype is open. If you could run skype in the background then this could function pretty much as a total phone replacement for me (i have vonage & no cell phone). However as is i am certainly not going to leave skype open all the time, so it only functions to allow me to call out (still awesome, but kills me to see the potential limited).

6 - Propiatary connectors. You have to use only your ipod usb cable. Would be great if you could use a standard usb cable so i don't have to keep switching cables into my laptop.

7 - No good category system for much of content. Notes, calendar, contacts, etc have no ability to assign a category (unless i am grossly missing something). That is definitly something i miss from my Palm that helped me find things quickly and keep things organized better.

8- No default ability to use synced data without ipod plugged in. So with palm you have the palm desktop software that you can edit contacts/calendar/notes, etc. . in without the palm and can sync it later. You can't even see the options for the ipod touch unless it is plugged in, and even then it is pretty limited what you can change.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Introduction

This 32GB iPod Touch is replacing my daughter's 30GB iPod Video. She loves my 32GB iPhone 3GS because of all of the applications that are available. Many games run from $0.99 to $9.99 in iTunes. Some games are actually free. In addition, because of the amount of space, there is ample room for movies, songs, podcasts and lots of apps.

Design

The size and weight of the 3rd Generation iPod Touch is unchanged. When compared to the iPhone, this unit is slimmer in size and certainly easier to hold for my daughter. The use of the Touch is intuitive, and there are numerous 'screens' that can hold 16 apps on each page. This is essentially just like an iPhone when it comes to WIFI and Bluetooth capabilities. Side by side comparison, the Touch edges out the iPhone 3GS for loading apps and connectivity to the internet.

Setting up connectivity with the wireless network (I use an Apple Time Capsule) is intuitive and I was up and running on the internet in less than 1 minute. Web browsing can be facilitated through portrait or landscape mode. Applications can be directly downloaded into the device.

Quality of the movie resolution is excellent, and this makes a good travel companion for long car rides or cross country airplane rides.

Applications

There is a base of applications that come with the Touch, such as a calendar, mail, voice memos, Notepad, Photos, YouTube, Google Maps, Weather, Stocks, Clock, Calculator, Safari and the App Store. With so many apps being released daily, there are apps for any category that you can imagine.

However, to facilitate this as a learning tool, I have installed applications on Hindi, the World Maps, Presidents, a Dictionary and Thesaurus, Radio Disney, a TV Guide (iTV), Voice Over IP application, Movie Times, and guides to planets/constellations. Additionally, she has Quick Office which allows her to type her stories on MS Word.

OS 3.1.1

She has a Vista Laptop; however, I run a Macbook Pro and sync her iPod Touch with that. With the new operating system which is already installed, there is greater flexibility for arranging apps right through iTunes.

Pros

Ease of use/Intuitive
Excellent battery life
Tons of apps
Latest iPod Touch Operating System

Cons

No built-in internal microphone
No integrated camera, unlike the iPhone

Overall

I am very happy with my purchase. This is a great entertainment system, allowing the user to utilize the device for music, movies, games, organizer, internet access, and so much more.

This has to be a part of your life. It has changed how our family entertains ourselves.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Where To Buy Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

The iPod Touch is a really good buy, but if you have a bad case of iPhone envy, you're not going to find the cure here.

Cons..
+ No internet outside of Wifi (can't connect to your cellphone's internet unless you have a Windows Mobile smartphone and even that takes some tinkering)
+ Bluetooth only works to connect to iPhones or another iPod Touch
+ External speaker is extremely weak and barely audible
+ Microphone is in the earphones, not on the actual iPod Touch

Pros..
+ Amazing display. Go find a friend with either an iPod Touch or an iPhone and you'll see
+ Access to the App store's 75,000+ apps (even though a great majority of the apps cost money)
+ Built in Nike+
+ The same operating system that made the iPhone the invention of the decade

If you want an iPhone, save yourself the time and go buy and iPhone instead. If you're happy with and iPod that doesn't have a camera, phone, or 3G internet access, but can do a lot of cool stuff, buy this.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

The I-pod touch is not an MP3 player. it can play music but its primary use is the tons of apps available for download. I like music alot, and the sound quality of all I-pods is awful, and the touch take the rotten cake.

The UI looks simple but it takes so long to navigate to find the content you want and there seems to be no way around it.

The apps are its saving grace. if it wasn't for the apps there would be no reason not to pick up a Zune HD or a open format touch player like the walkmanX 1000.

I-tunes has no tools to discover new music, i am not a listener of main stream music, and so most of the featured artists are not at all to my tastes. so I cant find music to buy.

i switched from my Zune, and i am not happy. i probably will use the Zune software music discovery tools or return the touch.

I was tempted with the apps and games, and although i had fun with them, they don't help my commute and they dont have the power music has on me.

I am a music lover and that's why i owned a Zune before, the touch seemed like such a good device. but it seems like it is rated so high because no one has taken a good look at how Zune is now.

take my review with a grain of salt i am a previous Zune man and will be again soon, i wanted to write a good review, but in light or the UI and music experience offered by the Zune HD
I will trade apps for that. anyway the Zune HD will have apps in time.

imagine the I-phone without apps? what do you think? i think it is a decent device, but unlike most, i put music over things like games and other silly apps.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

I find absolutely no difference from the 2g and 3g models. It's not even that much faster when I compare them. Voice controls are NOT useful when you upgrade your earbuds from the terrible earphones they give you to say... a pair of SHURE SE530s. The sound quality is also average at best. From what I'm seeing, Apple rushed the 3g so that they'd have something NEW to compete with the awful Zune HD. Why rush the 3rd generation if it's NOT EVEN AN UPGRADE?!?Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Buy Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I have had the Creative Zen vision M for more than 3 years and absolutely used that piece of gadget more than any other device myself being a music addict. With the free space nearing 0 on my creative (had a 30 gb version), the announcement of the 64Gb version of ipod touch couldn't have had come at a better time.
People keep telling about apple not including a camera. I am not bothered. If the amount of space is doubled and the speed is doubled keeping the price same then i cant find a reason not to be happy about.
The headphone included sure does have a microphone for voice control but i myself dont see myself using that piece of earbud. I am using the ipod with my Klipsch Image X10 and sure i am getting absolutely the best music. For people who complain about the quality of music output i would just say that get rid of the default earbud and get a good one ( I have already recommended one).

What i love about moving on to the ipod is the apps. They say there are 75000 apps. Nice chance that i would atleast find 75 that i would love(have already found more than 20).
Moving on to the games. Sure they arent as huge or i would say complex as the ones you would find in PSP but say what i love playing games without having to stress out my nerves. The graphics are good and the interface is the best point about it.

Genius is good but i see myself using the Pandora app more to discover new music.

To conclude I would say that if you are looking for a pocket PC go for this. If you are going for a good MP3 player still go for this and you will turn up liking (or even addicted) the other features as well. Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Buying Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

This is my first iPod and MP3 player. So far I've had the iPOD TOUCH (32-GIG/3RD GEN) for two-weeks and I'm loving it.

It's does so much more than just play music, which is why I wanted one. I'm not a Mac person at all but the iPod Touch...I love it.

Out of the box it found my Wi-Fi connection and had me surfing the net (the real Internet and not the cell phone web pages like the one on my Verizon phone). It was intuitive to use and I'm finally getting accustomed to using the touch screen to scroll and type away.

This review is mostly for other iPod newbies like myself. Here's what it comes with:

***The iPod Touch- slick and smooth and very thin

***A USB Cable- this hooks your iPod to your computer to recharge the battery and to sync it with iTunes.

***Plastic Docking Thing- this is a small plastic part that allows you to dock the iPod to an external device (I'm not sure what).

***Head Phones with Microphone and external volume control.

***Teeny-tiny insert- with bare-bones info. You have to access the full manual, which is available for free download in PDF format, at the apple website.

My advice is to buy an external cover for the iPod--the 2nd Generation iPod Touch skins/cover fit the new 3rd Generation ones because the body is the same--and buy a screen protector so you keep the screen free from scratches and such. I already scratched the shiny back of my iPod just by placing in down on the table so be careful when you first get it if you don't have a cover for it.

As long as you have Wi-Fi (wireless Internet connection) in your house/apt you can get full use out of the iPod Touch. You can also access free Wi-Fi hotspots in stores, restaurants, and other areas, so you can get on the Internet and download applications (apps) etc., check your email, go on facebook, youtube, even Amazon has an app, that can be downloaded onto the iPod.

The iPod Touch is configured to automatically search for Wi-Fi networks, it looks for both either locked (need a password) or unlocked (no password) networks, and displays them in the settings for "Wi-Fi." You really don't have to know anything about Wi-Fi to get it started. You just pick one of them and it connects to it.

I've tried my iPod at some hotspots like a shopping center with a Starbucks and it found the Wi-Fi and connected but since a lot of people were using it, it took a while to connect.

You need the program iTunes, which is a free down-loadable program for Windows or Mac, and an iTunes account to purchase and download the apps (most are free but you still need an account to download them). If you've used iTunes before for buying song downloads or just to register then you already have a login account...if you haven't used iTunes before it's free to download and easy to install. Then you sign up for an account which is also free, unless you plan on purchasing songs or videos.

The pluses on the iPod Touch:

===== Applications (Apps) =====
The apps are a plenty on the iPod Touch and there's an app for everything (practically). They're arranged by category like games, news, productivity, etc., and are furthered displayed by best selling, top-free, and release date. You can also search by keyword or check out the most popular and featured apps.

Some apps are free and some cost a one time fee of between $.99-$4.99 and up. If you're a news junkie like me, you'll really love it. I've downloaded Time Magazine, NPR (radio and print stories), BBC READER, New York Times, USA Today, AP (Associated Press) and ABC News...all for free!

I really like that the BBC Reader will download their stories into the cache memory, once you connect via Wi-Fi so you can read the articles offline (when Wi-Fi is not available). NYT and AP will allow you to save articles that you can read offline as well. And the AP will deliver breaking news as long as you're connected... ALL FREE!!!

I've downloaded a dictionary, spell checker, facebook, Grimm's Fairytales and Alice In Wonderland books to read...all for FREE! I also got this free app called "Pandora" which is a radio station that will only play songs by artists that you want to hear. Too cool!

I know that I sound like a broken record with the "free" stuff but being a Verizon Wireless user, I'm sure other VZW customers feel me, I'm amazed that one can download and install quality, portable applications onto a device for no charge or subscription plan.

===== Other Fun Stuff =====

Calendar for appointments etc., contact phone book, clock, weather, calculator (you can download a free tip-calculator), notes and maps. These all come with the iPod Touch.

iTunes will keep the stuff (music, apps, videos) on your iPod, backed-up on your computer so you'll always have a copy of those things. And you can tell it which play-lists to sync so that you don't have to carry around your entire music/video library from your computer on the portable.

Anyway, I'm loving my iPod Touch and it was the perfect birthday gift to myself. It really is like having a mini-computer with you at all times. The only thing that's missing is a camera, but that's not a big deal at all. It's great for people who want an iPhone, but don't want AT&T's lousy service. I also love not having to pay a monthly subscription charge to Verizon for apps on my cell phone, now that I have the iPod Touch!

The only thing I would advise getting--in addition to the iPod--is the cover protector skin and screen protector mentioned earlier, and the Apple USB Power Adapter which will allow you to plug the USB cord into an electrical outlet (though it isn't necessary, it charges a lot faster than when it's charging from your computer).

Since this is my first iPod, I don't know how it stacks up against the previous versions. But this one is great and really addicting! So if you've been wondering if you should get one and you don't have an iPhone, have access to Wi-Fi, then I'd say...yes! The iPod Touch has so much to offer the user that you can find something to do with it even if you don't plan on using it as an MP3 player all that much.

*** A Note About iTunes ***
Even if you don't buy MP3s--I've only purchased about three from iTunes; the rest was from Amazon through credits from special purchases and iPod can play them--iTunes is really handy because it makes taking songs from CDs so easy by capturing them and turning them into MP3s. The program will even retrieve song and artist information for you so you don't have to label the file once you import it. From there you can make your own playlists and burn your own CDs from those playlists, not to mention carrying them on your iPod, so it's definitely worth it and really easy to use. Cheapest Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

** 10/02/09 Update *** Not sure why Amazon says I'm reviewing the 32GB model. I definitely have the 64GB model (and a hefty $400 credit card charge to go along with it)...****

This was an interesting purchase. After basically owning (among my family and myself), darn near every version of iPod ever made (gen 1, 2, mini, video, Nano, gen 1 touch, classic), I found myself back in the market around mid-August when my 1 1/2 year old iPod classic bit the dust. You know the drill... everything is happy-go-lucky and then one day your iPod displays no backlight and a sad face icon, never to be played again. Well, after my iPod gave up the ghost, I thoroughly examined the full crop of competition. I will say that I was impressed with the Zune HD pre-release specs, especially the HD video out capability. At the time, Archos had not yet released much info on the new 5 tablet coming soon, so I didn't want to risk waiting on that. Creative also has a new player, the X-Fi2, but like the HD, it maxes out at 32GB. Knowing Apple had a big event planned for September 9th and media reports that the invite referenced music, I anticipated new iPods were on the way and eagerly waited to see how Apple would respond to the increasingly stiff competition. When September 9th arrived, I fired up every live blog, tweet, and report from the Apple event. I waited and waited and waited some more, but aside from the announcements about the price reductions (in response to the Zune) and the 64GB Touch, it was pretty anti-climactic. Honestly, this was my least eagerly purchased iPod in a while. So, the lack of any real groundbreaking news from Apple only made my choice more difficult. After mulling it over for a while, I eventually decided on the 64gb iPod Touch because I wanted the largest flash-based player I could find. (I'll admit the premature demise of my iPod Classic had a lot to do with my decision to insist on flash memory). In the end, simple capacity won out.

At first glance, it looks just like the gen 2 Touch. Form factor, user interface, everything looks just like the gen 2 iPod Touch. They pack double the memory into the same size player as the 32gb model. The headphones are basically the only thing different in appearance from gen 2 and contain the built-in mic for the new addition of voice control. The only downside to voice control is that it would have been much better if they offered a jack for you to use your own headphones. If you plan to use the feature, (or any other apps that use the mic), you're stuck with apple's buds until the 3rd party accessory makers catch up. I don't plan to use it because it seems more of a gadget than anything else.

The body is amazingly slim, especially for a 64gb player. same size as 32gb except they crammed double the flash storage into the tight quarters. With that much memory crammed into such a tight space, I'm interested in seeing if heat ever becomes a factor.

By now, everyone has seen the commercials, drooled over a friend's Touch, or visited a store to play with a Touch, so I'll spare you the more boring details about features like mail, notes, voice memos, calendar, etc, and cut to the nitty gritty:

Screen: Simply gorgeous as usual. Rich lush colors for viewing photos, videos, web browsing and anything else the Touch offers. Much larger and sharper than the Classic. Vivid, bright, and clearly one of the best offered. Can be viewed horizontally or vertically. The screen automatically rotates with you when you rotate the iPod.

Wi-Fi: Great performance. Setup is very simple and compatible with most Wi-Fi security protocols. Someone else said it best, the Safari browser is fast and responsive. It is NOT like surfing a web on a cell phone. Everyone promises 3G this, Edge that, super fast this, but cell phone browsing is like watching paint dry. Not so with the iPod as it uses your fast Wi-Fi connection, not pokey cellular service. The large screen also makes for a more practical browsing experience. The finger controls are just as outstanding as they've always been. The Touch also has maps and locator service, but it's rudimentary at best. It's not true satellite based GPS, or even cellular triangulation (I always wanted to say that) mapping. It establishes your position similar to cell tower triangulation; however, it uses available Wi-Fi hotspots instead of cell towers. If you live in a modern wired town, cool. On the downside, if you ever get lost in the wilderness with this thing... well... just be glad it holds a lot of music and apps.. you'll need it..

Bluetooth: Wonderful for cordless headphones. That's the best benefit. No clunky dongle to attach. Some folks are upset that they can't connect to a PC or cell phone with it.. Frankly, as long as it works with cordless headphones, speakers, and other iPods, I'm happy and don't consider it limited.

Capacity: Yes! Finally, after years of waiting, a 64GB iPod touch. Seriously, 32GB is not remotely close to a power-user's needs. I own over 500 Cd's from over 20 years of collecting, all ripped to MP3. This is in addition to store-purchased MP3's, movies, and pictures. I like to keep a few movies onboard as well as pics because you never know when they might come in handy. 64GB is still a little low, but at least I can fit the majority of my media on it. When they go 80GB or higher, they will have found the sweet spot. I realize flash memory isn't cheap, so I'm curious to see the price point as capacities increase even higher.

Sound quality: While Apple is far from the best sounding MP3 player, they are also far from the worse. Frankly, the first thing I normally do when I buy a new player is chuck the headphones. Microphone and remote aside, this is no exception. I'd rather have a pair of powered headphones delivering true rich fidelity than the uncomfortable sit-in-your-ear-cavity-ready-to-pop-out-at-the-slightest-bump buds traditionally supplied with iPods. Even then, Apple pretty much provides the same sound enhancements they've always provided. I keep things flat because the EQ continues to rely on distortion to tweak the sound. It's better to just listen to it without all the distorted "enhancements".

The touch screen seems every bit as responsive and quick as it's always been. As for the new and improved processor, I don't see a world of differences in speed between this and earlier gen touches. I'm sure performance is enhanced; I just don't see it on a truly noticeable level. It's still a lot quicker than navigating with the click-wheel on the hard-drive Classic.

As for the apps, I know this might irk some folks, but I have absolutely no intention of using apps. I simply don't buy my personal media players for that reason. I'm sure they're great time passers for flights and such, but honestly, it was my least sought option. Just a personal preference.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I would still like increased capacity and more audio/video support from Apple (Where is support for WMV, WMA, Flac, Ogg??? Even the Zune will play AAC). Also, a radio is so long overdue it's ridiculous. But I guess the hope for these features will keep me glued to the blogs and tweets again when Apple has its next big iPod event next year. One thing's for sure, increasingly stiff competition from excellent contenders like the new Archos 5 (simply awesome), and the Zune HD will hopefully keep Apple on their A-game, which can never be a bad thing.

Discount Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I received a new iPod Touch 32GB (3G - 3rd Generation) for my birthday, and absolutely love it. Having never owned an iPod or other portable music device, aside from my BlackBerry Bold that tries to double as one, you can imagine my pleasant surprise.

Basically... now I know why Apple owns this market. The device is absolutely brilliant. The UI is crisp and easy to understand. The controls.. well, it's touch-screen. How much easier can you get? There is no need for manual to get started, but a pamphlet is included. I'm sure I'm missing out on some of the advanced features, and will be reading the manual at some point! (e.g. Genius)

The Pros:

* Playing and navigating your music. I really like the cover flow feature, where I can flip through the albums I have on the device.

* Genius Mixes.. nice trick.

* Shake to Shuffle, which is another nice trick and I think it's cool.

* The wireless is a trmendous asset to the device. Surf the web as fast as wireless will carry the data.

* H264, HD video? Yes... and it looks gorgeous on this screen.

* Voice control of what's playing

* Blue-Tooth enabled, which I'm sure is technology carried from the iPhone.

I will add that there are a few cons, but I was OK with these drawbacks..

The Cons:

* The Mic is in the headset cord. That's right... it's not in the device itself. What does this mean? It means that you will need to make sure "new" headphones have a built-in mic. And if you're like me, the included Apple earbuds are pretty rough. You will need the mic to take advantage of voice commands (new feature for the iPod Touch) and Voice memos.

* No photo capture capability. You're saying, huh? That's right... it's included in the Nano but not the Touch. I suppose this is because it begins to encroach on the iPhone space? I'm sure there is a marketing reason for it.

* No video capture capability. Again, you're right... the Nano now has this feature, but not the iTouch.

There is a lot to say about my first go into the portable media device market, and I'm sure I have forgotten a lot of great things this device will perform.

Now, off to find some great headset/headphones!
